Organization

Organization, Man's Menu #2

I am leaving my hubby for a few days to go on a trip with family and friends.  I always feel a little guilty when I leave him, because I would never let him go somewhere without me! LOL... He knows this. :)  Anyways, I make all his meals ahead of time and throw some treats in there as well.  I have to make sure he won't starve while I am gone.  Everything must be easy to make.  PTL, for microwaves.  He is also going over his friends house for dinner one night and his father's house.  Here is the Menu:

Organization, Produce

I bought these containers at the dollar store. It is just a comfort to know that these containers are sealed shut and nothing can get into the potatoes such as ants/bugs.  I store my apples in the fridge.  The bag always seems to be pushed to the back and forgotten.  There have been times when I bought another bag of apples and potatoes because I thought I was out.  Never again.

I liked the containers so much I went back and bought two more.   I keep a steady supply of apples and potatoes, so for these they are a must.  BTW, I will be doing another blog post soon on the containers I use for my other produce to keep my fridge organized.

Organization, Candles

Candles are one of my favorites things in life.  I have them going all the time and love the peace they bring to a home.  I had a drawer in my closet were I would store them.  I didn't like this because then I didn't know how many I had or what kind.  I find candles pretty and homey so I thought, "why not display them."  Now my apartment feels like a Yankee Candle Shop! :)

This is the before boring cabinet.  Kevin and I painted it black to match the rest of the furniture.

Organization, Exercise Calendar

Ok, so I am really a kid at heart.  I think we all are (at least the fun people.) Stickers are a colorful way to keep track of your progress. I don't think I will ever grow out of them. ;)

Here us what I do to keep my exercising organized.  I think this is important so you can see your progress.  I tacked a calender by my desk so I can see it every day.  Each sticker represents 20-30 minutes.  I write down what type of work out I did and how long next to the sticker.  I also draw a smiley face if I ate healthy that day and a sad face if I didn't.  It is good to have off days but not to many.

Organization, weight loss

The best app for losing weight and/or maintaining weight is Lose it!  I absolutely love this app!  It tracks your progress, exercising, and food intake.  It has great visuals and is extremely easy to use.  I am pretty faithful to this app and it is on my favorite shelf in my Kindle Fire.  It is available for almost every tablet I know of.  Lose It! also has the calorie counts for restaurants and doesn't require WiFi after installation. BEST OF ALL IT IS FREE! :)

I believe it is super important to track what you eat every day.  1. to make sure you don't over eat. 2 To make sure you don't under eat. 3. To see what unhealthy food you are eating too much of.  4. To see what you need to eat more of. I recommend writing down the food you eat BEFORE you eat it.  It makes you think, "is this worth it?" I have been using this app since Christmas. :)

This is the front cover of the app. (Lose it!)

The left picture shows you the actual food you ate that day.  The right picture shows you how many calories you had and how many you have left for that day.

When you select a food it will ask you how much of that food you consumed.  It will then calculate the calories for you. There is even an option for you to custom create your own food.  They will even provide icons for visual.

This option is great!  You simply type a product into the search bar and different options will pop up.  The more specific you are of the product the better.  Another option Lose It! has is a list of foods you ate previously in alphabetical order.  I find myself going there to find my food choice the most.

This is not my goal page.  It is just an example of one.  ;)

Organization, My jewelry

I never was a fan of small jewelry boxes.  My really long necklaces never fit and it was difficult to find my earnings.  I found this a couple years ago at Marshall's for $15. I have seen them on amazon for the same price.

There are many reasons I love my jewlery hanging organizer : Easy to find because of the see-through slots, rolls up for travel,  zippers for security, easy mobility, no knots, and it hangs next to my clothes for easy match ups.

On one side I put all my necklaces and hair things.  The other side I put my earrings.

This is a close up of one of the zipper sections.

It fits nicely in between my clothes hangers. Plus they match!

Organization, dinner menu.

This list took me 20 minutes to make, but it is going to save me a lot of time.  It is my hubby's dinner menu.  This is my first  time trying it out.  I figured it is a good way to use up what we have and prepare ahead of time.  I didn't want to make a menu where I had to stick to a meal for that day.  I am just going to hang it on my fridge and prepare what I have time for that day.  When I use up a product I will just cross it off the list.

I eat many things on this list, but most of the time I make myself a separate dinner.  I do eat meat, just not every supper.  I will have to do a blog on just dinners for myself sometime.
